Believe In Tomorrow House
on the Bay
One Year and Counting
Pull into the driveway at 617 Bayshore Drive, Unit 44 in Ocean City, Md., and you might think you’re arriving at a typical beach house. But stay awhile, walk out to the back deck, and read the enthusiastic “Thank Yous” scribbled in the guestbook, and you realize this house is anything but ordinary...
With three beautiful decks overlooking the bay feeding into the Atlantic Ocean, the new Believe In Tomorrow House on the Bay, located in Ocean City, Md., is the ideal place for military families with critically ill children to relax.
The facility, donated by John and Karen Talbott, is the Foundation’s second house in Ocean City. As we continue to serve both civilian and military families, the House on the Bay complements the Believe In Tomorrow House at Pinnacle Falls, N.C., as a part of our Military Initiative, serving military families nationwide.
“We could not have been more comfortable anywhere else and the extra touches that were put into this house are incredible!!! We had a wonderful time.”
“As a veteran, I am very much in favor of the Military Initiative,” said John Talbott. “I think the military often times is overlooked, and we owe so much to them. It’s great that Believe In Tomorrow welcomes the military to be a part of its programs.”
Since 2005, Believe In Tomorrow has prioritized military families with critically ill children for their respite housing programs. While getting treatment for their child at a military hospital, families in the United States Armed Forces are often far from home without the support of extended family members. The Military Initiative acts as an outside support system that provides families with the chance to relax, reconnect and restore their spirits.
Families who stay at the Children’s House on the Bay are also invited to participate in weekly barbeques held for all three beach facilities at the House By The Sea. Please contact the Believe In Tomorrow main office for more information on how to support our Respite Housing Program. We would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Talbott for their generous donation, along with all our volunteers and donors.
